the grotesquely stretched ascenders and descender add a very stylized graphic appeal. this piece would be nice with or without the texture.
nice work . . . good to see from you.

It looks okay without the texture on it, but in my opinion it "works" much better with it. I guess that could be attributed to the fact that I was staring at it for so long!
Thanks a lot for the comment. I appreciate it when someone of your caliber takes time to critique one of my pieces.

pretty cool
after seeing the green, I then noticed the yellow and the red.

The subtle variation in color... awesome! Really looks pro to me.
The long white lines are vibrant. The stylized letters are really cool too... reminding me of the 80's yet also very cutting edge...!
Criticism: the green background in between the "A" and "R" is kind of distracting me from the text. Whereas so much of the color in this piece blends gradually, the green feels out of place... too similar to the surrounding letters, not similar enough to the background (which, except for the interruption of green, shifts nicely from red to yellow/orange).
Also, my eye is kinda pulled to the upper left corner, it just feels darker than the others for some reason...
Overall, I'm really impressed!! Great work. Thank you for sharing it.
I tried making the white letter outlines different colors in the beginning, but I just kept coming back to the white. In my opinion, it helps them stand out against the background, whereas the other color choices I tried didn't really help.
I agree with what you said about the green between the letters being a little too distracting. I originally had the green in the upper right portion, but it made the piece feel unbalanced. So I toned it down a couple notches and moved it into the center. I'll play with it and and see how it looks.
About the corner, it does seem kind of dark. It could be attributed to the fact that I have a vignette effect around the image, and that combined with the dark red might make it appear darker.
Thanks again for such an in-depth comment.
